My name is Eddie Kirby and I am looking forward to coaching the Rolling Hills Swim Club this summer season. Below is a little bit of information about myself: I have been a swimmer most of my life; however, I started to seriously commit myself to swimming after my freshman year of high school. I was fortunate to swim in college at Greensboro College, where I was a distance and 400IM swimmer. Since graduating, I have enlisted in the USAR and currently am studying to earn a M.S. in Exercise Science through Liberty University online. My experience as a swim coach includes: Assistant Head Coach and Head Recruiter for Greensboro College, Head Age Group and Head Site Coach for STAR Aquatics, Head Coach for Forest Oaks Country Club, and most recently RHSC and Assistant Head Coach for the Fort Belvoir Swim Team. My coaching style and philosophy is centered around technique, as it will often be said "technique first, speed second". It is my belief that without proper technique, a swimmer's ceiling is only so high, but with proper technique, their ceiling increases. I approach all practices in a way that swimmers should have fun, learn, and get faster. I am looking forward to coaching RHSC this summer, and look forward to hearing from and meeting you all.
